I got this notice from my university today. I’m no longer a student, being that I’ve moved a hundred miles away and am taking yet another break from college so I can ruminate on the nature of existence (SO CLOSE TO WRITING MY BESTSELLING BOOK!), but one of the things that happened right before I left was a massive budget cut. My favorite anthropology professor was laid off.
And apparently the English department was eliminated completely:

The love in my life just said that the online discussion groups for her English class use internet speak in the forums. Hello! This is an English class! Please use proper English.
Nooooooooo! Why oh why doesn’t someone DO SOMETHING?
Or as I like to say, “OH THE HUMANITY!”
OH! THE HUMANITY!!!!!!! Great, more people who don’t know how to read, speak, or write intelligently. Does that mean they have eliminated the G.E. English courses too?
Oh they didn’t actually take out the department, I was just joking about that because the typo was so bad.
We need to know the drug policy’s what? Address? Favorite colour? Shoe size?
(I just love that it’s surrounded by equally bad text-speak.
