This is fromĀ Alex Wetmore. I don’t know him, but I like his blog. He recently posted some photos of he and some friends going camping, and how they rode their bikes up to the site. His photos include an Xtracycle in use, which made me all giddy as a schoolgirl:

She’s on the back! They rode 8 miles in to the campground, and she rode on the back, how cool is that?
IT’S COOL!

Here it is unpacked. Just so cool! The coolness continues! I can’t think of a better word! Okay, it’s NEAT! It’s SUPER NEAT!
Check out the above link to see the rest of the photos, and email me if you ever want to go bicycle camping. My 35th birthday is in a few days, and unfortunately we’ll be spending it driving all day (we’re heading to Portland for the weekend), but I told Greg I didn’t want a gift, I just wanted to save up my birthday karma for a bigger present later. If I work our budget right, I might be able to blend my birthday and Christmas into an Xtracycle for my Rockhopper.
I just saw this traceback (hadn’t noticed it for 6 months for whatever reason). It is a great place to go camping, and some of our friends with kids have reported that the 2 1/2 mile in campground is a good location to go with kids.
The Suiattle River Road is getting fixed sometime this summer, so it would be good to visit before they have repaired it and the campgrounds become popular again.
I’ve enjoyed your blog, thanks for linking to my blog.
Oh hi! Thanks for stopping by!
And I appreciate the tips! It’s good to know that location has been great for kids. My kids need more time outdoors.
